Install the website shortcut and/or calendar on iphone, android and Windows phone handsets
Setting up the shortcut icon on phone:
Navigate to the website home page on your phone.
Click the “share” icon at the bottom (centre one)
Then, on the bottom row of options it offers, find the “add to home screen”.
Select it and a Linmog icon appears, you get an option to edit what you want to call it.
Then click add. That’s it. The Linmog shortcut is now on one of your home screens.
Setting up the calendar on iphone:
Navigate to this page on your phone
Gently press and hold this link:
https://calendar.google.com/calendar/ical/lincmog%40gmail.com/public/basic.ics
A menu appears that lets you copy the link.
Go to settings, accounts & passwords, add account, other, add subscribed calendar, paste in the link, next, save.
All the LinMog calendar events should be in your calendar view now. They have not been merged with your personal calendar.
Selecting the 'calendars' option - bottom middle of the iPhone screen - lets you add and remove the calendar at will. It doesn’t remove it altogether, just from the view. If you untick everything except LinMog it becomes just LinMog. If you untick LinMog and re-tick your own calendar it’s back to how it was. Re-tick LinMog and it’s both again. Every time changes are made to the LinMog calendar those subscribed to it will automatically get it.
To see events: When the calendar comes up press on the month you want to see. There are dots on the days that have events. Press on the day with a dot and the event header will come up. Press on the header and some of the details will appear. If there are more details there will be a ‘show all notes’ at the bottom of the initial details. Press to access full details.
To get the calendar to appear in list order of events:
When you have pressed on an event and the header comes up press the red icon showing to the left of the zoom icon.
Setting up the calendar on android:
Navigate to this page on your phone.
Press on this link:
https://calendar.google.com/calendar/embed?src=lincmog%40gmail.com&ctz=Europe%2FLondon
It will launch the browser and take you directly to the calendar.
Once it's showing you can save it as a favourite and/or a shortcut icon on the home screen of the handset.
Depending on the age and version of android on the handset there are 2 main methods to do this:
1 - Most newer handsets will be using google chrome as the browser.
When the calendar is showing press the options icon (3 vertical dots) top right of the screen.
Select 'add to home screen' - it may just say 'add shortcut' on some handsets.
You get an option to edit the name for the calendar, do that or leave as is and press save.
An icon will appear on one of the home screens that takes you straight to the Linmog calendar. You can move it about on the home screens to a better location just like any other application.
2 - For older handsets the browser will be the original Google browser (looks like a globe of the world).
Clicking the link will launch the browser.
When the calendar is showing press the bookmark icon top right of screen. Looks like a flag with a star in the middle on most handsets.
Now Press 'add bookmark'. As above you will get the option to edit the name, press save.
If it's the only bookmark you have it will appear on the screen as a mini view of the calendar - maybe just a white square on some handsets.
If you have lots of bookmarks scroll down until you find it.
Press it to highlight it, release and a menu should appear. Select ‘add shortcut’.
